POST YOUR EVENT TODAY FOR WORLD CREATIVITY & INNOVATION WEEK

World Creativity and Innovation Week is an international initiative to teach and encourage creativity as an essential life skill in our lives. WCIW will occur April 15-21, 2013 and is an opportunity for the Bloomington community to showcase its support for creativity, innovation, and local pride. Post creative or innovative initiative/events at http://bloomington.wciw.org/ Any person, group, organization or business can get involved by providing an event, project, speaking engagement, etc. during WCIW that is open to the public. Individuals can also take the the “Creativity Challenge” on the WCIW website.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE EVENTS GOING ON IN BLOOMINGTON FOR WORLD CREATIVITY & INNOVATION WEEK (WCIW).

Margaret Fette – at the Tailored Fit in partnership with Sandy Keller- My Sister’s Closet (MSC)– refashioning outdate clothing into sellable wares for fundraising events forMSC. April 16th, 7 pm -10pm

Ladi Terry, Success Work! in collaboration with Ivy Tech Corporate College will offer complimentary seating in the “Master “Your Problem Solving Tool Box” workshops on April 16, 9-11am, April 17, 3-5pm, & April18, 6-8pm Reserve your seat at 812-330-6042.

Monika Herzag and Creative Thinking Strategies Class SPEA V 450 will be offering Creative Foot Print – April 17, 11-1pm at the Sample Gates using colored chalk and cookies to elicit creative ideas from participants.

Jenette Tillotson and Bloominglabs will be doing a group brainstorm and maker event April 16 and installation April 17 to celebrate WCIW.

Jessica Mott and Thrive will be holding their weekly Community Style Acupuncture Day-a culturally authentic experience, Saturday April 20 from 12pm-4pm.

Wonder Lab will be holding the following events during WCIW: First Friday Evening Science of Art: Extreme Knitting Friday, April 5, 5:00 – 8:30 pm: Nanoscience Adventures Saturday, April 6, 12:00 -3:30 pm; Sunday, April 7, 1:30 – 4:30 pm; Kids in the Kitchen: Sugar Sleuths, Saturday, April 20, 10:30 – 11:30 am

Ivy Tech O’bannon Institute is a great way to celebrate WCIW. Featured events include: Panel Discussions and Institute Conversation on Friday April 19 from 9am-3:30pm

Creative Aging Festival is coming in May offering a variety to events focused on developing creativity

Cardinal Education Initiative launched in April to expand opportuniteis for school aged children to experience live theater .

Bloomington Open Studios Tour 2013 is a fun 2-day event April 27 & 28 in which area artists open their studios to visits from the general public
