Excerpt from my new book about unleashing the power of engagement and creativity in the workplace!
“What I know at this point in my journey is that one person can make adifference, and most certainly have made a difference in my life, both positively and negatively. That one person has sometimes been the reason I survived and thrived. At other times that one person almost extinguished my creative spark. But in all cases it never was a crowd of people, or even a gathering of people. It was always just one person who made the choice. Each person always has a choice, and always has the power to stifle or ignite creativity. Leaders bear a heavier burden, due to their position of power, but all of us are accountable to protect each others’ creativity. Which way do you want to make a difference in the world? What type of leader, or messenger, do you want to be? “
“I am living proof that we all have a choice in how we receive the negative actions of others in the workplace. No one has the power to take away our self-esteem, our confidence, or our creative spirit, unless we hand it over to them. Our job is to fully be our authentic selves, and explore and discover our true purpose in life. For myself, as long as I am unleashing creative power, I am living out my purpose. So what about you? What is your purpose, and how can you live it each day to celebrate the messengers among us?”
