Creative Problem Solving Institute:

Ladi Terry first acted as a leader in the 2006 Creative Problem Solving Institute (CPSI) where she was a member of a team of four individuals who spent the week introducing participants to a creative process which would be a life altering experience for all who embraced its concepts. The participant focused ?Springboard? to creativity led each individual through all of the steps of the process so they might apply them to their everyday challenges.

Ladi returned in 2008 as a Presenter offering participants an opportunity to see creativity in action through the process of an artist. Ladi was joined by her artist husband, Tim Terry, who talked about the steps he used in creating one of a kind pieces of jewelry. Simultaneously, Ladi explained how participants might use each of these same steps to address their own life challenges.

The Creative Problem Solving Institute, in its 55th year, is held each year during the summer for a one week creativity filled adventure which attracts business professionals, teachers, artists and anyone interested in practicing or being trained in the process of creativity, in particular, the Creative Problem Solving Process. This event is sponsored by the Creative Education Foundation. Ladi plans on returning in 2010 as a leader. Ladi was a graduate of the Creative Problem Solving Leadership Training program in1999.

American Creativity Association (ACA)

Ladi Terry presented a session on Transformational Leadership at the American Creativity Association (ACA) annual international conference. The American Creativity Association (ACA) international conference held in Austin, Texas. This conference is an entry point for those interested in the field of creativity. Not only does it provide training on various creative process models, it is a chance to meet the pioneers in the field.
For current practitioners or trainers of Creativity, it is an outstanding way to network, find out what is new in the field and get an opportunity to share your own expertise. Ladi has been a creativity trainer/facilitator since 1988 and regularly presents at other creativity conferences. Expert to Expert

Ladi Terry, along with colleagues presented a workshop at the annual Expert to Expert conference in Buffalo, N.Y. The workshop, Selling Creativity Bite-Size, was co-presented with Jeff Olma professor of Creativity and English at Florida Community College and Doug Stevenson consultant, All Creation, located in Chicago.

The focus of Expert to Expert is to create a strong learning community among students, alumni and faculty of the International Center for Studies in Creativity.

  • to build a sense of community across alumni, students and faculty;
  • to share applications of the Creative Studies curriculum in the real world;
  • to provide an advanced learning experience in the field of creativity that further enhance our creativity credential.

Northwood University, Midland, Michigan

Ladi Terry recently co-presented a two hour workshop at the The 17th International Conference on Creativity in Colleges and Universities on the campus of Northwood University, Midland, Michigan

This session titled, The Skinny on Creativity or “Creativity, Fast Food Style”

challenged participants to become the executive chefs in their own creativity kitchen. Participants designed a menu of intoxicating ideas and savory appetizers that will help wet the appetite of colleagues, audiences, or potential clients leading them to the “meat and potatoes” of Creativity. Participants generated new ways to answer the ubiquitous question “Now what is it exactly that creativity practioner’s do?”

Ladi Terry has over 20 years experience in higher education administration and 18 years in the field of creativity. She owns her own consulting business,offering workshops and customized training. Doug Stevenson recently started a consulting business in Chicago, “All Creation” which focuses on corporate clients. Each drew upon there experiences, training and imaginations to make this a tantalizing session. The presenters are recent graduates of the Master’s in Creativity and Change Leadership degree from Buffalo State College.

Ladi has been a regular presenter of Creativity Workshops, for students, staff, and administrators at several institutions of higher education.
