To move into the innovation age, workers must unleash their creative power in the workplace. Consequent-ly leadership must learn to invite, support and unfurl that raw power to ignite creativity and lead change. This inter-active workshop introduces the Power of Engagement (POEM) model for unleashing creativity in the workplace along with PECOH profile (Pre-existing Conditions for Organizational Health) to assess the level of engagement that exists within organizations. Participants will apply the POEM model in an unraveling of their own “messenger” story. Participants will be exposed to the business, financial, ethical, and national imperatives to unleash creativity in the workplace because diverse thinking makes dollars and $ense.

Celebrate the Messengers…Don’t Shoot Them

The workplace is resplendent with talent, yet employers are hesitant to tap this resource. Why is that? If we are now moving into the innovation age, we must start acting like it in the workplace. We are now ushering in a time when each worker will be called upon to unleash their own creative power and leadership simply must learn how to invite, support and unfurl that raw power into the American workplace.
The new book, “Celebrate the Messengers…Don’t Shoot them.” by Ladi Terry chronicles how to survive and thrive as a “messenger” in the workplace. It demonstrates that what is lacking in today’s world of work is leadership that ignites creativity and leads change. This interactive workshop will introduce the Power of Engagement (PE) model and process for unleashing creativity in the workplace.
Participants will dialog about the dynamics that happens between leaders and followers including external factors and internal dilemmas. Stories from “messengers” whose creative voices were suppressed, whose critical inquiry were ignored, whose talent were seen as a threat, or whose innate commitments to the job were thwarted will be the catalyst.
Participants will apply the model and process in an unraveling of their own journey and will examine the role of their internal sensor. The end result is that participants will have a thorough understanding of the power of engagement, be encouraged to further examine their own creativity, expand their thinking about the interaction of creativity and profitability and learn how to leverage their organizational creativity to surpass even their most ambitious goals.
